Terms of Service
Effective date: Not yet effective Last updated: 2026-07-26
Welcome to Langa Library. These Terms govern access to and use of the Langa Library websites, applications, reader, search, translation, read-aloud, MyBook, community, contribution, and related services (the Services).
The Services are operated by Operator identity under review — not yet effective, trading as Langa Library (Langa, we, us, or our).
By using the Services, creating an account, purchasing a service, or submitting content, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Who these Terms cover
These Terms are intended primarily for individual users. Separate written terms may apply to institutions, publishers, rights holders, commercial partners, employees, contractors, moderators, and professional contributors.
2. Eligibility
You may use public pages without an account. To create an account, you must be at least 16 or have the legally required involvement and authorization of a parent or guardian. You must have legal capacity to accept these Terms.
We may apply stricter safeguards or disable particular features for younger users.
3. Accounts and security
You agree to provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, avoid misleading impersonation, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it results from a failure in systems controlled by Langa Library.
We may require verification when necessary to protect an account, administer contributor privileges, respond to abuse, or comply with law.
4. Personal library and MyBook
MyBook may allow you to save books, create shelves, maintain reading progress, write private notes, upload eligible files, or connect external materials.
Unless clearly marked otherwise, personal shelves, notes, uploads, and reading activity are private. You retain rights in your private content. You authorize us to create technical derivatives—such as indexes, thumbnails, extracted text, format conversions, accessibility data, and synchronization records—only as reasonably necessary to provide the feature.
You are responsible for having the right to possess, upload, store, translate, or process each file. Technical acceptance of a file does not mean its use is lawful. You may not use private storage to distribute unauthorized copies or bypass access controls.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- violate copyright, privacy, confidentiality, contract, consumer, or other rights;
- upload or distribute pirated books or unauthorized commercial covers;
- circumvent digital-rights management, authentication, geographic controls, rate limits, or security measures;
- access non-public systems, data, accounts, or administrative functions without authorization;
- introduce malware or harmful code;
- scrape or systematically extract substantial content except through an authorized interface, written permission, or a right that cannot lawfully be restricted;
- impose unreasonable technical load or disrupt normal operation;
- harass, threaten, exploit, deceive, or unlawfully discriminate against another person;
- publish another person's private information without authorization;
- manipulate ratings, recommendations, reviews, contributor credits, or community processes;
- misrepresent authorship, legal status, source, identity, or factual verification;
- use the Services to facilitate fraud, piracy, unlawful surveillance, or serious harm;
- resell access or falsely imply endorsement, partnership, or official status.
6. Library materials and rights
The Services may contain bibliographic records, public-domain works, licensed works, covers, descriptions, quotations, reviews, community contributions, user files, and links to external sources. Different elements may have different rights holders and legal conditions.
Access through Langa Library does not itself grant permission to reproduce, publish, translate, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit material. Public-domain status may differ by country and by edition, translation, illustration, introduction, cover, and typography.
7. Langa Library intellectual property
Except for material owned by users, contributors, licensors, or rights holders, Langa Library owns or licenses the Services' original software, interface, branding, editorial content, graphics, documentation, compilations, and protectable structures.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable permission to use the Services for ordinary reading, research, learning, and personal purposes.
8. User Content
User Content includes reviews, comments, profiles, lists, corrections, annotations, translations, artwork, community covers, and other material you submit.
To the extent that you own intellectual-property or other rights in your User Content, you retain those rights. You confirm that you created the content or have permission to submit it, that required attribution and disclosures are provided, and that the content does not violate law or another person's rights.
For private User Content, you grant only the permission reasonably necessary to operate the private feature. For public User Content, you grant Langa Library a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, technically adapt, display, communicate, preserve, and promote the content as necessary to operate the Services. Feature-specific contributor terms may require a different or open license, which must be disclosed before submission.
9. Community contributions
Contribution programs may include metadata corrections, reviews, translations, community covers, reading guides, research, and other work. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication. Contributions may be edited, labeled, declined, removed, or replaced for legal, quality, safety, attribution, technical, accessibility, or editorial reasons.
Badges, certificates, credit, volunteer status, contributor privileges, or supporter access do not create employment, agency, partnership, ownership, or entitlement to compensation unless a separate signed agreement states otherwise.
10. Automated features
Translation, summarization, classification, metadata matching, recommendations, transcription, OCR, read-aloud, and other automated outputs may be wrong, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for specialized use. Review outputs before relying on, publishing, or distributing them. Automated tools do not replace professional legal, medical, financial, scholarly, editorial, or translation review.
11. External services
External archives, publishers, retailers, identity providers, payment services, and other sites are controlled by their operators. Their terms and privacy practices apply. A link does not necessarily mean endorsement, and we are not responsible for an external service's availability, security, legality, accuracy, or conduct.
12. Paid services and donations
Before charging you, we will disclose the material transaction terms, including price, taxes, billing period, renewal, cancellation, and refund conditions. Recurring billing requires legally sufficient authorization. Donations do not purchase governance rights, editorial control, or preferential treatment unless expressly stated in writing.
13. Changes and availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change or be discontinued due to maintenance, security, legal restrictions, rights issues, provider failures, capacity limits, or events beyond reasonable control.
Where a material change significantly affects a paid service or stored personal content, we will use reasonable efforts to provide notice and any remedy required by law.
14. Moderation and enforcement
We may review content and account activity to enforce these Terms, protect users and systems, investigate abuse, respond to rights complaints, maintain data quality, and comply with law.
Depending on severity and context, we may warn, correct, label, reduce visibility, remove content, restrict a feature, suspend an account, revoke contributor privileges, or terminate access. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an appeal route. Immediate action may be necessary for serious legal, safety, child-protection, security, fraud, privacy, or operational risks.
15. Account closure
You may stop using the Services and request account closure. Eligible personal data will be deleted or anonymized under the Privacy Policy and retention schedule. Public contributions may remain where needed for attribution, preservation, discussion integrity, licensing, legal records, or the rights of others. We may de-identify attribution where reasonably possible.
16. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided as available and as is. We do not guarantee completeness or accuracy of metadata, classifications, public-domain indicators, translations, recommendations, external links, or automated outputs. We do not guarantee that every work, file, feature, or device will remain available or compatible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Langa Library and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, including loss of data, opportunity, revenue, goodwill, or expected benefit.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law and proportionate to the relevant service and payment. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by legally relevant fault, gross negligence where applicable, mandatory consumer rights, or unlawful personal-data processing.
18. User responsibility
You are responsible for unlawful conduct, unauthorized content, material violations, and infringement of another person's rights. To the extent permitted by law, you may be responsible for reasonable losses directly caused by that conduct. This clause does not impose liability that cannot lawfully be imposed on an individual consumer.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without removing mandatory protections available to consumers in another applicable jurisdiction.
Before formal proceedings, each party should make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the matter. Contact langalibrary.team@gmail.com with the relevant facts and requested resolution. Subject to mandatory jurisdiction rules, disputes may be submitted to the competent courts of To be confirmed before effectiveness, Vietnam.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for new services, changes in law, security, operations, payment models, or clearer user protection. We will show the revision date and provide reasonable notice of material changes. Where affirmative consent is legally required, we will request it.
21. General provisions
If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer an account without permission. We may transfer operations in a lawful reorganization or transaction, subject to continued protection of users' rights. These Terms do not create employment, partnership, agency, franchise, or fiduciary relationships.
