Accessibility Statement
Langa Library aims to make books, discovery, reading, translation, and contribution tools usable by people with diverse disabilities, devices, languages, and reading needs.
1. Target
Our current target is substantial conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA for public pages and core user journeys. This is a target, not a claim of full conformance, until a documented audit supports the claim.
2. Design commitments
We aim to support keyboard navigation, visible focus, logical headings, text alternatives, sufficient contrast, scalable text, reflow, reduced motion, meaningful labels, clear errors, accessible forms, captions or transcripts where applicable, and compatibility with common assistive technologies.
Reader features should include adjustable typography, spacing, themes, navigation, language, and read-aloud controls where technically practical.
3. Known limitations
Verified or currently known limitations:
- Formal accessibility audit not yet completed; verified limitations are under review and will be published before this policy becomes effective
4. Alternative formats and assistance
Users may request reasonable assistance or an alternative format for Langa-authored material by contacting langalibrary.team@gmail.com. Rights and technical constraints may limit conversion of third-party books, but we will explain available options.
5. Feedback
Provide the page, device, browser, assistive technology, problem, and preferred contact method. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and communicate a resolution or status update within 20 business days.
6. Continuous review
Accessibility checks should be included in design review, component testing, content publishing, automated CI checks, manual keyboard testing, screen-reader testing, and periodic independent audits.
